Description
A snapping turtle makes her way back to the pond that she came from! For what ever reason the turtles from a near by pond like to lay there eggs on my gravel road. They dig a hole deposit the eggs and leave! The pond is a little over a thousand feet away. How the baby's ever find there way thru the grass and woods is beyond me!!!! On this day I had my camera and decided to take a picture as she was walking along! She stop and turn to me as if to say go a head and put your hand over here and see what you get! Do you see the beak on this turtle!!! She could really hurt you!!! Her eyes tell the story "Don't mess with me"!! I took my photos and walked away, and she turned and continued on her way back thru the wood to the pond. Most of the nest that the turtles make are destroyed by birds or other scavengers! But some do survive to grow up and make the journey too! A great photo for conversation in a office or study!

Fabulous capture Marvin. Love that face. These are the crankiest turtles I've ever met though. :o)
