I got this shot of the Silver Moon drive-in theater in Lakeland Florida, in Sept, 2913. Here in Florida it is still very hot, but on this day the humidity was down a little so it was not to bad. I made the drive from Tampa to Lakeland just to take photos of this great drive-in!!! I may have to shoot it again because I would love to get the shot with the neon lights on! I was thinking it was a wasted trip but this shot with the sun peeking behind the big screen turned out to be a nice shot! Because I am doing nostalgia I did this shot in black and white! This theater dose flea markets during the day like most other drive-ins just to make ends meet! They all being back such vivid memory's of years gone! I don't know that much about the 50's, but I would be willing to bet that on a Friday night there was lines of cars waiting to get into the Silver Moon! Even into the 60's drive-in was the place to go with your girl, or your family!!! This theater is located on highway 92 so people would have come from all over to see a movie. Well I got my shot and there was no rain on that day, I may still go back again to get the neon lights on, but until then I hope you enjoy the "Silver Moon"!!!!
