Description
Daybreak at the pier began early in the morning, in fact it was still dark when I arrived on the scene. The wind was blowing at a brisk 20 mph. This cause the ocean to be very rough with rolling swells that crashed into the pier with great force. This is the way my trip to St. Augustine pier in Florida was evolving, it was very chilly but I wanted this shot of the surf pounding the supports of the pier. With such low light I had to set up for a long exposure, and I knew this would give me a beautiful silky look to the water. It would be another 15 mins. before the sun would appear on the horizon of the Atlantic. But it's approach made this awesome glow of a yellow ribbon of light in the sky. I love how this early light gave such beautiful color to the high clouds!! I know you will enjoy this photo I call "Daybreak At The Pier"!!!!

What an amazing long exposure shot, Marvin! Looks like a dream with that silky water, reflections and that sky is perfect along with the light and the beams of the pier! Exceptional!
